Our Story

Serenity Funeral Chapel Life Celebration Center & Cremation Services of Idaho is your most affordable, locally owned choice for funeral and cremation services in the Magic Valley.

Serenity Funeral Chapel is a locally owned, full service funeral home in Twin Falls, Idaho offering complete burial and cremation services. Serenity Funeral Chapel can assist you with all your funeral and cremation needs from start to finish.

Serenity Funeral Chapel was founded in 2004 by Heidi Heil to provide an affordable, “locally owned”, option for funeral and cremation services in the Magic Valley. Heidi Heil, owner and licensed mortician, wanted to give back to this wonderful community in which she was born and raised. The Heil family has been in the community for five generations. Heidi was born in Twin Falls and raised and educated in Roseworth and Castleford. Heidi attended Idaho State University and mortuary school at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon where she graduated Valedictorian in 1997.

Heidi has gained extensive knowledge and experience in the funeral and cemetery industries working at a number of facilities in Idaho. Heidi realized the need for personalizing the funeral experience and making it a memorable occasion in celebrating the lives of the loved ones we have lost. Heidi knows the importance of detail and helping families through this very difficult time. Heidi and Serenity Funeral Chapel will strive to exceed your expectations and make your life celebration experience one that you can remember and cherish as a time for celebrating the lives of your friends and loved ones. Heidi will be here for you with pre-planning your funeral, cremation, and cemetery arrangements, at the time of need, and far beyond in the days, weeks, months, and years that follow as a friend and advisor that you can count on and trust when it really matters.

In 2006, Heidi relocated the funeral home from a leased facility to a historical home in downtown Twin Falls. She renovated and turned the 1910 brick home (originally built by a physician) into her funeral home. In 2009, she purchased the adjacent 1917 home (which housed the business "Dad's Telephone") and renovated it into a chapel and "Life Celebration Center" with an outdoor courtyard. In 2012, Heidi was finally able to achieve her dreams and goals of creating the "ideal" funeral home facility for the business she had built from the ground up. She accomplished this by building the two adjacent historical homes together by adding to the chapel. In 2014, a crematory was installed on site. The funeral home features a beautiful, eclectic, chapel that seats 100, with reception area and outdoor courtyard. Heidi welcomes her client families into the charming atmosphere that makes them feel at home.
Heidi also gives back to the community as a member of the Twin Falls Optimist Club and past Childhood Cancer chair, as an Emeritus Ambassador of the Twin Falls Chamber of Commerce, as a past volunteer soccer coach with the Twin Falls Parks & Recreation, as an advisor for the St. Luke's Serenity Garden located at Sunset Memorial Park, as a past board member for the Twin Falls Senior Center, founder of the breast cancer awareness fundraising campaign, Tough Enough to Drink Pink, and as a member of Celiac Support Group of the Magic Valley as well as supporting many non profit organizations and fundraisers.

Other members of Serenity Funeral Chapel's staff include funeral assistants, Marcella Heil, Larry Heil, Stacee Parke, Kenneth Coiner, Freddy Rodriquez, and Ranae Combs.
