Jerold “Pete” Jones was born on October 19, 1949, at home during a severe snowstorm to Eva Mae and Marlon Jones in Peck, ID. Along with his six siblings, the majority of his childhood was spent growing up in Las Vegas causing all sorts of mayhem with his friends. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps in February of 1968. He served his country for six years, including two years in Vietnam where he earned two purple hearts before coming home. From here he spent time with his family, becoming a Jack of all Trades. On his 40th birthday, he met the woman who would become his wife and the mother of his children. Pete and Joelene got married on June 16, 1990, in Chesterfield, ID. That same year they had their first daughter, Monica Mae Jones on November 7, 1990. Two years later they had their second daughter, Meagan Jones on November 4, 1992. For the next 29 years, he spent his life raising his daughters with his wife. Pete also spent his time with his family and friends who became family.
During his life, he found the love of cowboying, mainly because he got to spend time outside just going places. Pete was a man of road trips and taking new adventures whenever he got the chance. He loved to go camping with his family and any who wanted to join in the weekend adventures. Pete was often heard talking about how his daughters are his greatest accomplishment in life. At the age of 70, he passed away with his family by his side on December 12, 2019.
Pete is survived by Joelene Jones (wife), Monica Mae and Meagan Jones (daughters), JC Jones, Jarnard Jones, Jeff Jones (brothers), Judy Orsland, Janine Lee, Marla Alcastro (sisters), and an army of nieces and nephews all the way to great-great nieces and nephews.
