Linda Rae Malone (Conn), 64, of Twin Falls passed away peacefully at home Saturday May 20, 2018. She passed gracefully, shortly after being diagnosed with glioblastoma, brain cancer.
Linda was born in Washington DC to Donald R. Conn and Vonnie Eichelberger on August 25th 1953. She had four siblings, Sharla, Donette, Michelle, and Andrew. Linda grew up attending local schools and churches in Twin Falls Idaho. As a teenager Linda was active in the LDS community and worked multiple jobs including at her fathers gas station. She also enjoyed softball and playing piano.
After graduating high school she stayed in Twin Falls, married, and raised her two children, Jennifer Garcia (Twin Falls) and Josh Malone (Boise). After working in retail at Kmart for 28yrs, Linda travelled following her children. She first moved to Hawaii to be close to her daughter and grandchildren, where she worked at Bank of Hawaii. She then spent 10 years dividing her time between Anaheim, California and Jerome, Idaho. During this time she worked with computers, assisting her sisters online business. In 2014, Linda moved to Boise to be close to her son and two grandsons.
Linda was mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed the company of friends, and loved a good laugh. Humor was a defining characteristic; sarcasm and irony were not lost on her. In recent years she started working in genealogy. Family and friends were everything for her.
Nothing made Linda happier than her children and grandchildren. Known to her grandchildren as Nana. “Nana” never missed a birthday, sporting event, etc.. If she couldn’t make it, she would send a card to let you know you were loved. She would routinely take her grandchildren for a weekend to relax, watch movies, go to the park, and bake goodies. Even when she wasn’t feeling well she made sure to make her children and grandchildren feel special. Nana has left a big hole in our hearts and she will be forever missed.
Linda is survived by her children, Jennifer and Dylan Garcia (Twin Falls), and Josh and Kalley Malone (Boise); grandchildren, Justice Garcia, Kai Garcia, and Kier Garcia of Twin Falls, Bensen Malone, and Otis Malone of Boise; parents, Vonnie Eichelberger of Anaheim, CA and Donald R. (Clora) Conn of Bend, OR; siblings, Sharla (Ernest V.) Hicks of Anaheim, CA, Donette (Dennis) Black of Twin Falls, ID, Michelle Conn (Eric Buckeye) of Pheonix, AZ, and Andrew (Samantha) Eichelberger of Meridian, ID; in-laws, Norma Malone, and Darla Roth of Jerome, ID.
Linda is also survived by lots of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and in-laws that she loved dearly.
