On Monday, June 4, 2018, Eleanor Jean Stammerjohn passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in Meridian, ID.
Eleanor was a native of the Twin Falls area, born and raised in Burley. She worked many years as a school bus driver and a school secretary. She enjoyed transporting children for many years and the fun trips she got to take them on. Eleanor had a passion for ceramics and sewing. She would spend hours with her friends painting a variety of ceramics and porcelain for family and friends. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and was always there to encourage them. She loved camping, family, and creating beautiful things for those she loved. She remained “Rotten as ever” until the very end, which showed just how strong she was in everything she did.
She was a loving mother of two daughters, Shelli Godfrey of Meridian, ID and Colette (Mary Anne) Stammerjohn of Reno, NV; a doting grandmother to Jordan, Sydney, and Bailee Godfrey; a loving sister to her “little” brother, Bruce (Sharon) Schrock of Bellevue, ID, and sister, Teresa Romans of Mobridge, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Virginia Schrock, and a sister, Sylvia Junkert.
We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Genesis in Meridian for taking care of Eleanor, as well as Heidi Heil at Serenity Funeral Chapel for all of her assistance and support to the family during this time.
A celebration of life will be held from 7:00p.m. until 9:00p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Twin Falls City Park. Cremation is under the direction of Serenity Funeral Chapel Life Celebration Center and Cremation Services of Idaho, Twin Falls. Condolences may be shared at www.serenityfuneralchapel.com.
