Eddie Eugene Resz, 79, of Buhl, Idaho passed away from a long battle of cancer at home, surrounded by loved ones, on March 14th, 2019.
Eddie was born in Butler, Missouri to Aletha Rose and Eugene James Resz on Feb 16, 1940.
He attended Ozark Adventist Academy where he learned to love and respect all of God’s creation. All his life, Eddie leaned on his personal Savior, the only begotten son of God, Jesus Christ. He loved unconditionally and was always happy to lend a hand to those in need.
He married Sandra on November 13, 1961 in Elko, Nevada. He was a loving and compassionate husband and father. He strongly believed in “family first” and dedicated his life to giving his children the best upbringing he could possibly offer.
He worked as long haul truck driver for years before becoming a journeyman of heavy duty machine repair. He was forced into retirement in 1996 after a serious trucking accident, but never stopped doing what he could physically.
In his earlier years, one of his personal accomplishments was his involvement in the SDA Pathfinder Club were he taught the love of God, Nature, and Survival Skills. After retirement, along side of his wife, he raised a small herd of longhorns and a hand full of chickens on a small spread, northeast of Buhl, Idaho. He ranched with his trusted horse “Red” and three different dachshunds (through the years), Penny, Jenny, and Minnie. It was always his dream to own a small ranch, have a horse, a dog, and cattle. God blessed him with his simple wish, and he loved every morning doing chores on the homestead.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Sandra; 5 children, Tamara (Daryl) Mayes, Annette (David) Blackett, Eddie A. (Kersten) Resz, David E. (Carmalin) Resz, and Joshua (Elizabeth) Resz. Eddie was the oldest of eight children. His surviving siblings are: Barbara (Mike) Havener, Gladys (Larry) Castro, Lilburn (Laura) Resz, Laura Miller, Sue (Tad) Greeson, Linda (Rex) Edwards, and Sandra (David) Launstein. Eddie was “grandpa” to 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and one grandchild, Jovan.
There will be no funeral services as per Eddie’s request. The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Cole Johnson for his special care and friendship and the staff at Visions Hospice for attending to his needs.
