Cathy Marie Jacobsen Shaddy (55) passed away in her home in Filer, Idaho on June 17, 2018.
She was born on November 28, 1962 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Arlo and Helen Jacobsen. Cathy grew up in Buhl, Idaho and attended Buhl schools. Dale Butterworth and Cathy brought Krista Butterworth into the world in 1979. Later she married Roger Shaddy and together they had Arlo Shaddy in 1989. She was a drug and alcohol counselor at the Walker Center in Gooding, and Twin Falls for many years. She also worked at Pro-Active advantage. Cathy changed many people’s lives on their journey through recovery. She also led an anxiety support group. Cathy called her AA group, and her other counseling groups her family. Throughout the years, Cathy sponsored people, one person in particular she held near to her heart, up until the time of her death, they remained close friends.
In remembering Cathy, people make mention of her laugh and her smile. She impacted the lives of all who crossed her path. She had a great love for people. Her friends and family meant the world to her and she treasured her relationships. Some of her greatest loves were her grandchildren: Coby Butterworth, Jaden Anton, Jakob Cyr, Caleb Cyr, and Kloey Maughn. She would light up at the mention of them and they brought such joy in to her life. Cathy had a love for God and relied heavily on her faith.
She is survived by her children, Krista Butterworth (Bobby Cyr), and Arlo Shaddy; her mother, Helen Jacobsen; brothers, Doug (Kerrie) Jacobsen, Jeff (Tina) Jacobsen, and Steve (VeAnn) Jacobsen; her grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Serenity Funeral Chapel Life Celebration Center and Cremation Services of Idaho, 502 2nd Ave. North, Twin Falls.
